Why can't I work with nature?

It always seems to Die on me for some reason. Yes this is my Art home work completed for a few reasons.             1. I do not do well with adding shadows to images via my mind, so yes this is all done via ref photos or out of my head.                                                                                2. I am lazy                                                                       3. I have nothing else to add, I know floating objects bug some people at times but not really me.
So I have just been sketching recently but last night and today I was finishing up on this. It is just a normal piece of paper size.

Inspires

what inspires me, my art? (all Google images)
  color, I love color

fruits, they are full of interesting aromas and shapes sometimes a scent can trigger a picture in my head
Flowers and poems, the Poem Tulips by Sylvia Plath reaches out to me and makes me realize that things that are beautiful are not always safe
Alice in Wonderland, I love the fantasy and wonder that is involved   Octopus, I have been painting them recently just so much into the cuteness of this photo has inspired my own work

patterns, the repetition and look of fabric inspires me to sew or to repaint as a type of background for paintings once in a while
Birds and love, the freedom of these sweet creatures inspires me, I have yet to paint anything with birds but I wish to, I also love the symbolized romance here.

Never look back...

Taken February 2011 photo altered on computer program to look painted.
never look back baby
never see what you missed
give yourself no time for regret
honey listen to this
let the wind whip your hair
the sun beat down on your skin
hold on tight
life is a bumpy ride--Christine C.
